Jud Caswell will offer a program celebrating the music of the legendary Jim Croce at the historic Phippsburg Congregational Church. Jud is an award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing in his native state of Maine and beyond for more than 25 years. In 2006 he made a splash on the national scene, winning the legendary Kerrville New Folk competition. He’s had his songs recorded by Judy Collins, taught at the Berklee School of Music, and named “#4 Song of the Decade” by New York’s WFUV. His record “Live at the Seagull Shop” was the number 1 album on the Folk Alliance International radio charts in March of 2020. In this program, Jud will shine the spotlight on the songs of the great Jim Croce whose hits included “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim”, “I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song”, “Time in a Bottle”, “I Got a Name”, “Operator (That’s Not the Way it Feels)”, “Bad Bad Leroy Brown”, Roller Derby Queen”, “Photographs & Memories” and many others. Singing along isn’t required, but we’re not sure how you could know and love these tunes and not want to! Prepare for a wonderful journey through the timeless tunes of Jim Croce as delivered by this masterful singer and musician. If you aren’t already familiar with Jud’s musicianship, you’ll learn why Maine Today called him “enormously talented… It's only a matter of time before he's discovered by the rest of the world; you should discover him now.”
